ZERO HUNGER 

SUSTAINABLE AGRICULTURE PROGRAM

GASD empowerment and livelihood program is in support of SDGs # 1 (Zero Poverty). The program is aimed at providing an opportunity for vulnerable population through skills development, microloans, and small business grants;

GOAL # 3

GOOD HEALTH & WELLBEING

GASD is helping to raise community health standards by fostering community engagement in disease prevention and control. This program is in support of SDGs # 3 (Good Health & Well-being)

GOAL # 5

GENDER EQUALITY 

GASD Gender program is in support of SDGs #5 that seeks to provide support to women and girls through leadership development, empowerment, political participation, and policy advocacy;

  • SEA in Schools

  • Annual Gender Equity Summit

DEMOCRATIC GOVERNANCE

GASD Democratic Governance Program explores the relationships between democratic governance and the persistence of urgent social problems with a particular focus on strengthening citizen’s participation, transparency, accountability, and freedom of Information as tools vital to the understanding of contemporary democracy

 

 GASD facilitates the inclusion of grassroots voices in local and national policy debates and works with local communities to participate in designing policies and programs that directly affect their lives.

To address the issue of hunger by 2030, more investment and resources should be tailored toward agriculture. 

 

GASD provides support to young farmers in rural communities in areas where we work. we provide tools, seeds, and training to become more productive;

 

We work with schools in establishing agriculture projects (School Garden) and support youth agriculture activities;

GOAL # 4

QUALITY EDUCATION

This program is in support of SDGs # 4 (Quality Education) aimed at providing access to equal education for Liberian children with a focus on girls, orphans, and children affected by the conflict in school through scholarships and after school/ vacation programs.

GOAL # 6

CLEAN WATER & SANITATION

GASD WASH Program is geared toward minimizing water sanitation and hygiene-related challenges by increasing access to safe water supply, fostering proper sanitation facility and promoting proper hygienic practices.

DRUG PREVENTION & POLICY REFORM

GASD Drug program places more emphasis on drug policy and laws reform. The program is an evidence-based policy reform advocacy aimed at enhancing and increasing engagement with policy makers and key stakeholders that seek to reform Liberia Drug Law.

 

GASD also develop and implement evidence-based drug prevention projects targeting vulnerable youth;
